Griffin 2009 Setup & Mods
The Griffin 2009 comes ready to fly out of the bag, but if you want to tweak the turning speed or bar pressure below are some settings that you can play with.
Turn Fast - Turn Slow
The kites default setting will suit all normal riders, but there are some riders who like a special set-up so here is how you can change the feeling of your kite. If you want more bar pressure, stick the turning speed onto slow. Some wake style riders prefer this setting as it requires more muscle to turn the kite and give slightly more direct feel.Also some beginners may prefer this setting to slow down the kite. Oddly, you can turn the kite faster but it requires more muscle in the turns.
Pulley Attachment points 1 and 2
If you want better light wind upwind performance and more punch through the kite loops and faster speed on the water then change the pulley attachment from 1 to 2. Bar pressure will increase and you should do the lighter faster mod below also.
Settings
Surf style setting are best as turn fast and pulley 1, or pulley 2 if you like more bar pressure and lighter wind upwind performance
Wake and unhooked riders may like pulley 2 and turn slow
Beginner riders may like pulley 1 and turn slow
Pro riders may like pulley 2 and turn fast
More, Default and Less Power Settings
These where out on the kite of the early bridle, we stopped using the early bridle for the shorter more direct connect bridle which does not support the more or less power setting. So make sure you don't change from the default power setting or your kite wont fly well
LighterFaster Mod for Griffin 2009
I ride all my kites with this mod, and the feed back from our riders say this mod increases the all round performance of the kite, reduces bar pressure and increases the turning speed by about 25% with a tighter turning circle. I like this mod because it lets me whip my kite around in the surf faster, it is also better for kite loops. Its an easy mod to do, you just lengthen both of the inside replaceable bridle lines by a few CM. (See the red area below) This makes the steering line more direct connect to the back and makes the front lines more direct connect to the front. Keep the attachment points on fast and default. This mod only works for the Griffin 2009 Kites. Also, if there are any extra knots in the back replaceable bridle line remove them (green area below)

See instructions below, cut some line and make a larks head, undo the replaceable bridle line and add in the larks head. Measure the larks as per image 2
